Meredith Lorenz Heimburger is a Partner and advisor to the Impact Investments team at GEM. In that capacity, she works closely with the Managing Director and Senior Associate to ensure the integration of impact measurement and management into GEM’s investment sourcing, due diligence, and selection process. She and the team design holistic investment approaches to aid clients in incorporating mission and values into their portfolios, and work with the Client Portfolio Management Group on education around impact investing, portfolio design and implementation, and reporting. Prior to joining GEM in 2012, Meredith spent seven years with Teach For America. She served first as a classroom teacher and then as a member of the staff, leading the expansion of the organization’s presence in new and developing regions across the U.S. Meredith is a Board Member and Chair of the Investment Committee for the Cynthia and George Mitchell Foundation, which promotes sustainable solutions to human and environmental problems. She also serves on the Investment Committee of the Foundation for the Carolinas. Meredith received a B.A. in English with a concentration in Gender Studies from Davidson College.
